Walker Therapy Services is dedicated to providing a full range of quality therapeutic services. We have physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists on staff so we can ensure that the prescribed therapist attends each client. Our therapists will also perform cross-discipline screening to determine if it is appropriate for the client to be evaluated by disciplines other than the one prescribed.
Every client is given a thorough evaluation so we may provide the most suitable form of therapy. Our Gainesville office offers on-site options include aquatic therapy in our private, indoor pool, hippotherapy in our indoor, heated riding arena, feeding and swallowing therapy, and traditional clinic-based therapies in one of our private therapy rooms. Our Dahlonega office also offers feeding and swallowing therapy and traditional clinic-based therapies in one of our beautiful private treatment rooms and currently offers equine-assisted therapy off site while our brand new all-inclusive facility is under construction.
But we don’t stop there. If appropriate, our therapists will provide recommendations for specialists and facilitate access to augmentative communication devices, wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment, orthotists, advocates, etc.
At Walker Therapy, we are the only facility that has pool, horses and treatment rooms all in the same place at both of our location: Gainesville and Dahlonega, GA. We are constantly upgrading and reinvesting our our facilities, equipment and training.
Our distinctive approach to rehabilitative and habilitative therapy is intended to improve the overall well-being of each client. In addition to the riding arena and the pool, the Center offers on-site availability of a range of other therapeutic tools, equipment and services.
INDOOR RIDING ARENA
Equine-assisted therapy encompasses occupational and physical therapy treatments that involve activities on and around horses to promote human physical and mental health.
INDOOR HEATED POOL
Aquatic therapy refers to treatments and exercises performed in water for relaxation, fitness, physical rehabilitation, and other therapeutic benefit.
PEDIATRIC GYM
Boasting a special 16-foot rock-climbing wall and suspension equipment, the pediatric gym allows our therapists to use a variety of sensory integration techniques to assist clients in achieving functional outcomes.
PRIVATE THERAPY ROOMS
Our center has smaller, quieter rooms available for therapy sessions including speech therapy and self care.
ORTHOPEDIC GYM
Our orthopedic gym is fully equipped with a treadmill, bicycle, staircase, weights, e-stim and ultrasound machine, hot and cold packs as well as therapy treatment tables.
